Namibia popped my continent of Africa cherry! I had seen photos of this country for years. It was time to see the gorgeous colors of the Namibian desert and visit cheetahs in the north. What I least expected to find was a lively community of friendly, fellow queers!

Childhood dreams do come true! As a long-time fan of The Lion King, I finally made it to Kruger National Park to experience my first African safari tour! I also made time to visit an old grad school friend, see Ladysmith Black Mambazo in concert, and explore Simon’s Town and Cape Town.
